Bhuvneshwar Kumar fails to pick MS Dhoni’s “Ghoomega” instruction, concedes an extra run

In the second ODI between Australia and India at the Adelaide Oval, Indian fast-bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up four wickets and gave away just 45 runs in his full quota of 10 overs.

At a stage when Australia was looking to push the score beyond 320, Bhuvi’s brilliance helped India to restrict them at 298.

Chasing 299, former skipper MS Dhoni forged good partnerships with captain Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik. He took his side over the line and showed the critics that he is not over yet. In the process, Dhoni also registered his 69th ODI half-century.

However, during the first innings of the match, an interesting incident took place.

In the 32nd over that was bowled by Kuldeep Yadav, Shaun Marsh hit the ball towards the point fielder. It was Bhuvi who was fielding at that position. As the ball was reaching him, Dhoni shouted “ghoomega” (the ball will turn). But, the pacer failed to understand the instructions from the wicketkeeper right in time and ended up conceding an extra run.
