The Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Friday suspended Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul pending inquiry into controversial comments made by the duo while appearing together in a celebrity talk show.
The decision means Pandya and Rahul won’t be part of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia that begins from Saturday. They will be returning home from Australia to face the inquiry.
The BCCI has convened the six-member panel to probe into the matter and the cricketers will face soon after coming back to India.
In two separate emails addressed to Pandya and Rahul, the two-member CoA has barred them from participating in any match or event that is authorised, organised, sanctioned, recognised or supported in any way by the BCCI, the ICC or any State Association till the time a final decision has been made.
Here’s the transcript of the email addressed to Hardik Pandya:
Dear Mr. Pandya,
You are aware that enquiry and proceedings against you for misconduct and indiscipline have been initiated under Rule 41 of the BCCI Constitution and the same are presently pending.
In terms of Rule 41(6) of the BCCI Constitution, you are hereby suspended with immediate effect from participating in any manner whatsoever in any match or function or event or activity that is authorized, organized, sanctioned, recognized or supported in any way by the BCCI, the ICC or any State Association, until final adjudication of the matter.
Yours faithfully,
