Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni began the year 2019 with successive half-centuries on the Australian soil.
After a slow and steady fifty in the first ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), the veteran Indian wicket-keeper struck a match-winning half-century at the Adelaide Oval, levelling the series 1-1.
With India needing seven runs off the last over, Dhoni smashed a massive six on the very first delivery bowled by Jason Behrendorff and completed his 33rd ODI fifty. Surprisingly, Dhoni didn’t realise that he has reached the milestone until his partner, Dinesh Karthik, reminded him of the same.
Once Dhoni noticed what he missed eventually, he raised his bat and waved at the cricket fans in Adelaide.

On the next ball, Dhoni and Karthik ran a quick single to finish the match and beat the hosts by 6 wickets.
