Cheteshwar Pujara had been subject to a lot of criticism from several quarters for not walking despite edging the ball in the second semifinal of the ongoing Ranji Trophy between Saurashtra and Karnataka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
Pujara was batting on just one run when the incident took place in Saurashtra’s first innings and went on to score 45 off 99 balls before being eventually dismissed by Abhimanyu Mithun.
A similar incident occurred in the second innings of the match where he was once again given a lifeline by the on-field umpire despite being clearly out much to the anguish of the opposition.
In the 25th over of Saurashtra’s second innings bowled by Vinay Kumar, Pujara edged a fuller delivery into the gloves of Srinivas Sharath.

The wicketkeeper and the close in fielders instantly went up for the appeal but the umpire, once again, was unmoved as in the first innings.
Vinay Kumar literally pleaded with the umpire to give the decision in his favour but he had to return empty-handed.
