Ajinkya Rahane’s stunning catch at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) to dismiss Marnus Labuschagne on day three of the fourth Test just about sums up India’s series.
The newly-minted Australian No.3 looked for a boundary to inch closer to his maiden Test half-century when he clipped Indian pacer Mohammed Shami off his pads towards mid-wicket.
That is until Rahane intervened with cat-like reflexes, snaffling a brilliant catch low to his right and centimetres from the turf.
Rahane’s catch was also a great exhibit of tactical flair from Virat Kohli. The Indian captain had placed his vice-captain in the catching position minutes before the dismissal.
