MS Dhoni struck his third fifty in the series and along with Kedar Jadhav took India home by seven wickets after Yuzvendra Chahal’s six wicket-haul to help India win the series 2-1, finishing the tour on a high in Melbourne on Friday.
Having dismissed the home side for 230 off 48.4 overs, the tourists got home with four balls to spare. Jadhav scored the winning runs to the jubilation of a crowd of 53,603 dominated by Indian fans who chanted Dhoni’s name.
It is now Australia’s seventh straight ODI series defeat, extending a two-year winless streak that has alarm bells ringing for the team’s World Cup title defence.
