Teenager Jason Sangha had his lid rattled by a Jhye Richardson vicious bouncer during a Big Bash League (BBL|08) match at the Spotless Stadium on Wednesday.
The Perth Scorchers speedster dug one in short on a pitch that had been offering extremely unpredictable bounce.
The Sydney Thunder’s young gun, Sangha attempted a pull but was nowhere near completing the shot when the ball thundered into his grill. He looked unsteady on his feet for a brief moment, with Richardson and his teammates quick to check on the batsman.
Thunder medicos tested the 19-year-old for a concussion as the replays showed just how solid the contact of the ball was.
However, Sangha was able to continue batting but lasted only for three more balls, getting caught at deep square leg off for two on the bowling of Nathan Coulter-Nile.
