IPL 2019: Kedar Jadhav gets a cake shower after CSK’s win over Delhi Capitals; watch video

In the 5th match of IPL 2019, Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets at Feroz Shah Kotla, registering their second win.

Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat. Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan (51 runs off 47 balls) and youngster Prithvi Shaw (24 runs off 16 balls) gave Delhi a solid start.

But it was some class bowling by Dwayne Bravo that helped CSK restrict the opposition to a score of 147 runs in 20 overs. Bravo picked 3 crucial wickets of Dhawan, Pant, and Ingram giving 33 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

Chennai Super Kings chased down the target comfortably, with 6 wickets in hand and 2 balls remaining. CSK opener Shane Watson was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’ for his entertaining knock of 44 runs in 26 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes.

“It was a little bit on the slower side, especially when you have a target like this, you have to take it deep. We were in control,” said Kedar during the post-match presentation.

The Chennai Super Kings team extended their victory celebration as it was Kedar Jadhav’s 34th birthday. In the video posted on Twitter, the CSK players can be seen singing ‘Happy Birthday’ for Jadhav, with Raina holding him from behind.
