Kings XI Punjab will start their IPL 2019 journey on March 25, playing against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Lokesh Rahul and Chris Gayle had a fantastic 2018 season, and the fans would love to see that again. Ravichandran Ashwin has been impressive as a captain.

In the 2019 IPL auctions, Punjab under the ownership of KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited successfully overcame four other franchise teams to secure the services of mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy for a whopping amount of INR 8.40 crore. They also claimed England star all-rounder Sam Curran for a sum of INR 7.20 crore.

The other top player in the squad is Australia’s Moises Henriques, who will be available for the whole tournament. Meanwhile, South Africa’s Hardus Viljoen, who was the most successful bowler in the recent T10 League in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will spearhead the attack along with Mohammad Shami.

Seventeen-year-old Prabhsimran Singh was also added to their squad mainly because of his outstanding performances with India’s Emerging squad in the recent Under-19 Asia Cup.
