IPL 2019: Shardul Thakur takes a brilliant running catch to dismiss Rishabh Pant; here’s the video

Chennai Super Kings star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo made the most of a typical sluggish Feroz Shah Kotla pitch, helping his side restrict Delhi Capitals to 147 for 6 in Match 5 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019, returning figures of 3/33 on Tuesday.

Bravo, who came in to bowl the 14th over was taken for 17 runs, but the experienced campaigner came back strongly with a double-wicket over in his second – including the big-wicket of Rishabh Pant and Colin Ingram – before sending back half-centurion Shikhar Dhawan in his third.

With Pant looking in great touch, the Super Kings needed something special to get rid of him and the moment of brilliance was provided by Shardul Thakur. Before Pant could inflict more damage, Thakur pulled off a brilliant running catch near the boundary to send him back.

On the second delivery of the 16th over, Pant flicked a Dwayne Bravo delivery towards deep square leg. It once looked like the ball would land safely but Shardul ran swiftly to his right and completed a stunning catch to end Pant’s cameo (25 off 13 balls).
