IPL 2019: WATCH – Vijay Shankar gets two batsmen run-out on a no-ball (SRH vs RCB)

It was a dominating performance by Sunrisers Hyderabad as they comfortably defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. With this massive win of 118 runs, they move to the top of the ‘IPL Points Table’ (4 points and Net run rate +2.111).

RCB skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and invited SRH to bat first. It was a dream start for the home team as both openers, Jonny Bairstow (114 runs off 56 balls) and David Warner (100 runs off 55 balls) completed their century, breaking the record for highest opening partnership in the tournament.

It was an uphill task for Royal Challengers Bangalore to chase down a score of 231 runs in 20 overs. The whole team got out at a score of just 113 runs in 19.5 overs. Losing by a wide margin of 118 runs severely impacted RCB’s Net run rate (-2.413) and now puts them at the bottom of the ‘IPL Points Table’.

In the 19th over of RCB’s inning, Colin de Grandhomme and Mohammed Siraj got involved in a comical run-out. It was a low full toss from Vijay Shankar that went straight to Bhuvneshwar Kumar at mid-off as Siraj ran for a single. It was a mix-up between both batsmen and Shankar ended up running out Grandhomme at the non-striker end and Siraj at the batting end.

The decision was referred to TV umpire and Grandhomme was found guilty of being too lazy to get back to his crease. It was quite unlucky for Grandhomme to get dismissed in this fashion (run-out on a no-ball).
