WATCH: Brilliant fielding by Jadeja-Dhoni duo, send Glenn Maxwell packing

For the third ODI of the series in Ranchi, Team India came on the field wearing the army camouflage caps. It was a tribute to all the martyrs and their families.

Indian skipper won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, openers Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja gave Australia a flying start, scoring 93 and 104 runs respectively. At the end of 50 overs, Australia managed to put up a total of 313 runs.

While chasing, India lost few early wickets at were 27/3 in 6 overs. Captain Kohli played an outstanding inning (123 runs, 95 balls), scoring his 41st ODI century, and the second in the series. In the end, India fell short of 32 runs, scoring 281/10 in 48.2 overs.

Usman Khawaja was awarded the Player of the Match for this maiden ODI hundred.

One special moment in the match was in 42nd over during the Australian inning. On the last ball of Kuldeep’s over, Shaun Marsh hit the ball towards Jadeja. Jadeja showed his brilliance on the field and fired the throw towards the wicketkeeping end. Dhoni smartly deflects the ball towards the stumps and send Glenn Maxwell packing.

The 4th ODI will be held on 10th March at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.
