New Zealand batter Katie Perkins was dismissed in a freakish fashion on Thursday in their tour match against the Governor General’s XI in Drummoyne Oval.
In the 45th over of the match, Perkins hit a low straight drive off the bowling of Heather Graham. The ball, hit with some force, went past the bowler but didn’t hit the turf. And it just flung up into the air after striking the bat of non-striker Katey Martin and Graham completed an easy return catch.
Martin and the fielding side react in disbelief
Perkins was out for four as she slowly walked off the field, Martin and the fielding side laughed and scratched their heads over this bizarre dismissal.
