WATCH: KL Rahul takes screamer to dismiss Steve Smith in IPL 2019 Match 4

There is an age-old saying in cricket, ‘Catches win matches’ and KL Rahul proved it once again during the fourth match of the IPL 2019.  Rahul took a brilliant running catch near the boundary to send back Steve Smith which eventually proved to be the turning point of the match between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday.

Steve Smith scored 20 on his IPL return as his Rajasthan side lost by 14 runs to Punjab in a controversial T20 match played in Jaipur.

The former Aussie skipper came to the crease with his right arm heavily strapped following recent elbow surgery and looked understandably rusty at the start of his innings scoring just three runs from the first three balls.

He then only managed a single from back-to-back free hits following two no balls from Ankit Rajpoot before finding his range by clubbing Sam Curran for a boundary and a six in successive deliveries.

But the young England allrounder, who was carted for 52 runs from his four overs, also got the crucial wicket of Smith thanks largely to his teammate KL Rahul.

Pumped-up Rahul thumped his chest and let out a few emotions after he dived full length to grab  Smith’s catch airborne with two hands.
