India seamer Mohammed Shami led an inspired bowling attack to help restrict Australia to 236 for seven in the first ODI at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Saturday.
Shami returned impressive figures of 2-44 including the wicket of dangerous Glenn Maxwell for 40 after Australia elected to bat in Hyderabad at the start of the five-match series.
Shami cleans up Maxwell
In the 40th over of Australia’s innings, Shami kept a tight line for Maxwell from the word go – frustrating him eventually. As the over was about to get finished, Shami produced an absolute peach and sent Maxwell’s off-stump for a walk.
