Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who is well known for his hawk eye throws, apart from his ground fielding and catching, produced a moment of magic to dismiss the Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Peter Handscomb at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur on Tuesday.
The dismissal of the dangerous looking Handscomb opened the gates for a stellar comeback by the Men in Blue to beat the Aussies by 8 runs.
The incident occurred in the 38th over of the Australian innings bowled by Mohammed Shami. The Indian pacer delivered the third ball of the over on a good length around the off stump as the batsman played it to the point region.
Marcus Stoinis, who was on the other end of the crease, had taken off for a single already. Handscomb was hesitant on seeing a fielder already set to collect the ball but in the end obliged for the risky single. Jadeja sprinted up, collected the ball and fired down the ball off his left hand to hit the stumps directly. Handscomb had to depart for 48 after facing 59 deliveries.
