IPL 2019: Dale Steyn takes a subtle dig at Ravichandran Ashwin

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) speedster Dale Steyn has taken a subtle dig at Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin, trolling the off-spinner on the micro-blogging site – Twitter. Not very surprisingly, ‘Mankad’ was the focus point in Steyn’s cheeky swipe at Ashwin.

The Indian ace has been hogging the limelight ever since he mankaded Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler in the first week of the ongoing IPL season. Ashwin had faced widespread criticism for the dismissal that is very much legal but is widely considered against the spirit of the game.

On Saturday, he tried to ‘Mankad’ Shikhar Dhawan at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium but the Delhi Capitals opener was much deep inside his crease.

Steyn trolls Ashwin

Recently, a Twitterati named Prasanna asked a very interesting question to the Proteas pacer. He wanted to understand the strength of a team which has a lethal bowling line-up, consisting the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Jofra Archer, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir and Ravichandran Ashwin. The guy wrote, “How good will it be to have jofra archer, Jasprit Bumrah , Kagiso Rabada , Imran Tahir and R Ashwin as your bowling attack in an ipl team?”

Here is the tweet:

Steyn replied to the tweet in an extremely hilarious fashion. “Bumrah- Bowled, Rabada- Caught, Tahir- Lbw, Ashwin- Mankad. All bases covered there Pdog,” the RCB star replied cheekily.
