Chennai Super Kings (CSK) tamed Kings XI Punjab at the Chepauk by 22 runs and claimed their fourth win of the season.
Faf du Plessis hit a brilliant fifty on return to the starting line-up with a 38-ball 54. He first put on 56 runs with Shane Watson for the first wicket and then another 44 with Suresh Raina for the second wicket.
During his knock, Du Plessis also played a quirky ramp shot in the 3rd over of the match. He got down on his knees and guided a Mohammed Shami delivery for a six over the fine-leg boundary. The ball came off the middle of the bat and the solid timing on it took it over the ropes.
KXIP’s veteran Chris Gayle, who was stationed at short fine leg, copied the scoop after Faf played it successfully.
