During the 46th match of the IPL 2019 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Feroz Shah Kotla, on Sunday, Axar Patel took a brilliant running catch at the boundary to send AB de Villiers back into the dug-out.
De Villiers was dismissed for 17 off 19 balls when he rocked back and pulled a Sherfane Rutherford delivery during the 12th over of 188-run chase. Axar, who was fielding at deep mid-wicket, first kept his eyes on the ball and then latched onto a fine overhead catch. The Delhi all-rounder also made sure that he didn’t step onto the boundary rope or cross it.
With this catch, Axar completely changed the game in hosts’ favour as DC restricted RCB to 171 for 7 and won the game by 16 runs.
