South Africa international David Miller took four brilliant catches but dropped one as Kings XI Punjab lost to Mumbai Indians by three wickets in an Indian Premier League (IPL) fixture at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday.
The game witnessed a lot of twists and turns and also a lot of entertainment on the field. There were a lot of actions in both the innings. The first innings was full of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle’s stellar performances with the bat while the second innings consisted of Kieron Pollard’s destructive batting and South African fast bowler Hardus Viljoen’s funny incident with Pollard and eye contact with Hardik Pandya.
However, there was yet another stand out performance in this game. KXIP’s David Miller took a stunning catch to dismiss his South African team-mate, Quinton de Kock. The incident happened in the ninth over of Mumbai’s run chase which was bowled by Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin.
The Indian offie bowled a slower delivery as de Kock charged down the track and looked to clear the fence by playing an inside out shot. The timing of the shot was right and it was perfectly executed from the middle of the bat. However, the result did not go in the batsman’s favour as Miller covered a lot of distance and took an excellent catch at long-on to remove de Kock.
