IPL 2019 – WATCH: Faf du Plessis-Dhruv Shorey takes an outstanding relay catch to dismiss Marcus Stoinis (RCB vs CSK)

During the 39th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru, Faf du Plessis – the overseas player of CSK – displayed his acrobatic skills at the boundary to dismiss RCB all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.

It all happened on the third delivery of the 17th over when Stoinis’ attempt to up the ante during the end of the first innings saw him returning back to the dug-out.

In a bid to clear the long-off boundary off CSK leg-spinner Imran Tahir, Stoinis played the lofted shot. In what seemed like a six, it was eventually caught by du Plessis on the boundary. With him losing his balance, the 34-year old South Africa international was aware enough to throw the ball to long-on fielder Dhruv Shorey, who was fielding as a substitute for his teammate.

Meanwhile, RCB posted 161 runs on the board after CSK skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. Opener Parthiv Patel scored his 13th IPL fifty, which was also his second of the season.
