IPL 2019: WATCH – Hardik Pandya pulls off the helicopter shot in front of his ‘master’ MS Dhoni (MI vs CSK)

In Match 15 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019, Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 37 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya was characteristically quirky as well as breathtaking and the highlight was the helicopter shot in front of the master and the inventor MS Dhoni.

Dwayne Bravo, CSK’s death-over specialist, was given the responsibility to bowl the last over of first innings. But the former Windies pacer conceded a whopping 29.

It was in the fourth delivery of that over where Bravo bowled a yorker in the line of the stumps. Hardik, who stood deep in the crease, used his wrists to flick the ball and pull off the helicopter shot sending the ball sailing over the mid-wicket region for a maximum.

Here’s the video:

During his eight-ball knock of 25 not-out, Hardik hit one four and three sixes.

“I am very happy for the way he’s (Hardik) batting, I’m impressed. I have never seen him bat this well previously, will have to use our variations to defend this score,” Hardik’s brother Krunal said after Mumbai Indians’ innings.

‘Man of the match’ Hardik Pandya also took three wickets including that of MS Dhoni as Mumbai Indians became the first team to register 100 wins in the IPL.

MI’s win also ended CSK’s three-match winning streak in the ongoing IPL.
