IPL fans expected a tough fight between the hosts Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday, but MI took the game away easily after winning the match by 40 runs.
Chasing 169, DC lost most of their wickets in the later half of second innings and moved far away from the victory.
However, the best moment of the match was the rivalry between Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah, in which the latter had an upper hand. In their first clash of IPL 2019, Pant’s sensational 78-run knock off just 27 deliveries was the talking point of the game. But on Thursday, Bumrah clean bowled Pant at the crucial moment.
Bumrah, who is often not seen performing wild celebrations after dismissals, came out with a strong gesture after he dismissed Pant. On a length delivery, the Mumbai speedster sent Pant’s off-stump for a walk. This was followed by an unusual celebration by Bumrah.
