IPL 2019: WATCH – Krunal Pandya tries to ‘Mankad’ MS Dhoni at Wankhede (MI vs CSK)

The entire cricket world was left stunned after Ravichandran Ashwin decided to ‘Mankad’ Jos Buttler during an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on March 25.

Fans, former and current cricketers stood divided while voicing their opinions on whether Ashwin was right to dismiss Buttler in that manner.

On Saturday (March 30), Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Krunal Pandya tried something similar on Kings XI Punjab batsman Mayank Agarwal but it was limited just to a warning after the former decided not to remove the bails.

Another close incident happened in the match between MI and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday and ‘Captain Cool’ MS Dhoni once again stunned the cricket enthusiasts with his alertness.

Krunal while coming to bowl the fourth delivery of the 14th over in the second innings didn’t release the ball but what came in everyone’s notice was Dhoni’s alertness in the scene. Although the CSK skipper expected Krunal to complete his delivery and was looking at his partner Kedar Jadhav, his bat was well-inside his crease at the non-striker’s end.

“Right instincts for Dhoni. The bat was inside, the ball was in the scene. He does most things right. Just out of instincts, with Dhoni very rarely will you see him do something that is incorrect,” commentator Sanjay Manjrekar said on air.

Meanwhile, MI went on to win the match by 37 runs as they restricted CSK for 133-8 in 20 overs after posting the total of 170-5 on the board. This win was the second of the season for Rohit Sharma and Co. as they continue their hunt for the fourth IPL title.
