The IPL clash between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chepauk on Tuesday witnessed some spectacular performances on the field.
During the first innings, it was CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who astonished everyone with his acrobatic skills to save a certain six. And in the second innings, it was Piyush Chawla who made his presence felt with his live-wire fielding as a result of which he took a superb catch near the boundary. The incident happened in the fifth over bowled by KKR off-spinner Sunil Narine and opposition’s premier batsman Suresh Raina was on strike.
In the final ball of the fifth over, Narine bowled a simple delivery wide at the stumps and Raina slashed it hard. With the sound of the bat at first instance, it looked like the southpaw would succeed in either getting a boundary or a six.
However, Chawla had his eyes set on the ball. He covered a long distance before completing a brilliant catch. Meanwhile, disappointed Raina walked back to the dugout as the Knight Riders players celebrated.
