Virat Kohli was in some punishing mood during an IPL clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Eden Gardens on Friday.
The RCB skipper slammed his fifth IPL century and first of the 2019 season, studded with some brilliant shots and a tinge of cheekiness.
During his 100-run knock, Kohli shared a hilarious moment with KKR’s bowling all-rounder Sunil Narine in the 18th over. When the off-spinner stopped in his run-up while bowling his final delivery, Kohli who was at the non-striker’s end, acted like he was out of his crease, teasing Narine to go for mankading.
It was all in good fun and Kohli also managed to put a smile on Narine’s face who is not known for reacting much even if he takes a wicket.

The ongoing edition of IPL has been shadowed by ‘Mankading’ controversy when Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin ran out Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler, who was at the non-striker’s end, without giving him a warning.
Buttler’s dismissal triggered a spirit of the game debate and left the cricketing world divided.
