Jasprit Bumrah was once again at his imperious best as he picked two wickets in five overs while conceding just 25 runs in India’s second and final ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 warm-up match against Bangladesh at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Tuesday.
Though the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, who bagged three wickets each, hogged all the limelight but it was Bumrah who laid the foundation for India’s 95-run win.
The speedsteer first dismissed opener Soumya Sarkar on the fourth delivery of the ninth over and then made it two in two when he stunned Shakib Al Hasan with a ferocious yorker. Shakib was left absolutely clueless as Bumrah’s delivery sneaked past the inside edge of the bat before crashing into the stumps.
What a delivery this was 👌

Chasing 360 to win, Bangladesh began solidly, with Liton Das and Sarkar adding 49 for the opening wicket, before Bumrah (2/25) turned the screw.
A resilient 120-run partnership between Das and Mushfiqur Rahim did offer some hope for Bangladesh but they were only able to put up 264 on the scoreboard in 49.3 overs.
Earlier, KL Rahul scored a brilliant 108 before a destructive MS Dhoni smashed a 78-ball 113 to almost knock the opposition out of the game.
India posted a mammoth 359 at a loss of 7 wickets in their final outing before the main tournament.
Virat Kohli’s Team India will begin their campaign against Faf du Plessis-led South Africa on June 5 in Southampton.
