Former Indian Test skipper Anil Kumble has revealed his best XI of IPL 2019, based on the performances of the players in the cricketing extravaganza. He also included only four overseas players as only four such players are allowed in the playing eleven.
For the opening slot, Kumble has picked David Warner and KL Rahul, who have had a prolific run this season. Warner has clubbed 692 runs at a blistering strike-rate of 143.86, which is so far also the highest, while KL Rahul has amasses 593 runs at a healthy strike rate of 135.38.
In the middle-order, Kumble went for Delhi Capitals duo Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant before choosing Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni. He also named Dhoni as the captain of the star-studded team.
Unsurprisingly, Kumble went for Andre Russell and Hardik Pandya to fill the sixth and seventh slot in the lineup. Both Russell and Pandya were in devastating form in the group stages.
Well, if a leg-spinner is picking a squad one can expect him to be a bit biased towards leg-spinners. Jumbo has picked Shreyas Gopal and Imran Tahir as the two spinners in his dream XI. The South African leg-spinner can get the Purple Cap if he picks three more wickets this season.
Kagiso Rabada and Jasprit Bumrah are two of the best fast bowlers in the world right now and it is not a surprise that both of them have been brilliant in this IPL season.
