Rajasthan Royals had a very little chance to qualify for the playoffs when they took the field against Delhi Capitals on Saturday. They had to win the game and needed to have a whole lot of scenarios to go their way in order to go through. However, very early in the game all permutations and combinations were thrown out of the window as the Royals capitulated meekly on a sluggish Feroz Shah Kotla surface.
First, leg-spinner Amit Mishra weaved his magic with figures of 3/17 to restrict Rajasthan to 115/9. Rishabh Pant then curbed his natural instincts and showed a great composure enroute a 38-ball unbeaten 53 as Delhi romped home by five wickets and moved to the second spot in the standings with 18 points from 14 games
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals are now out of the tournament, finishing with just 11 points from 14 games.
