Chennai Super Kings (CSK) openers Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson struck half-centuries to guide their team to a six-wicket victory over the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the second qualifier of IPL 2019 at the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vizag on Friday.
The young Delhi brigade were no match to Chennai who first tied down their opponent’s fiery batting unit before Du Plessis (39-ball 50) and Watson (32-ball 50) made the chase look easy. The Men in Yellow will now feature in their eighth IPL final where they will face their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians for the fourth title in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Earlier, CSK dished out a clinical bowling effort to restrict DC to 147 for nine in their third encounter of the season. Dwayne Bravo (2/19), Ravindra Jadeja (2/23), Deepak Chahar (2/28) and Harbhajan Singh (2/31) shared eight wickets between them to keep DC in check after opting to bowl.

#CSK are through to the finals. And yes, will meet #MI for the fourth time this season. Dhoni’s investment in experience pays off…once again. Clinical. #CSKvDC #IPL

So basically @faf1307 tells his team-mates at @ChennaiIPL, you play the earlier matches. When the time comes I will be there to win the big ones.

CSK’s best performance this season: in all departments, for intensity and desire to win. The last fortnight had seen them stutter, sputter and lose quite a few matches. Just when it seemed players had run out of steam, to come up with this rousing performance is fantastic

Excellent and clinical from @ChennaiIPL tonight. That bowling group is awesome. Got to back experience most times in knockout matches. @DelhiCapitals are a team on the up. We will have a 4 time VivoIpl Champion in 2019. Can’t wait for Sunday.

So #CSK decides to go around the wicket, Chennai – Vizag – Hyderabad instead of a direct route. Mumbaiiii we are coming at you !!!

I think #DelhiCapitals should be disappointed, they never adapted their game to slow decks despite playing so many games. But they have a lot of time to work and get better. Can't complain about the decks, you have to adapt. Plenty of promise really, build on this well.
