Shimron Hetmyer (75) and Gurkeerat Singh (65) forged a 144-run stand for the fourth wicket to help Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) end their IPL 2019 campaign on a winning note. The duo notched up half-centuries to power RCB to a four-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium on Saturday.
SRH will have to wait until Sunday – for the result of MI vs KKR clash at the Wankhede – to see if they have qualified for the playoffs.
Earlier, Kane Williamson (70 not out) led from the front as the Orange army posted 175/7 in a must-win encounter against Virat Kohli and Co.
Here’s how Twitter reacted:
It's important that other people also contribute and since we have seen the contribution today, we saw RCB getting past the line #RCBvSRH pic.twitter.com/s7MlxPSXm1

What explains #RCB playing with three overseas players when Hetmeyer was sitting on the bench?? Understandable when four overseas were available and he wasn’t one of them after the first few games… #RCBvSRH #IPL

Century partnerships for RCB not involving any of Kohli, Gayle and ABD in the IPL:
