IPL 2019 – WATCH: Hat-trick! Shreyas Gopal dismisses Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis off successive deliveries

Shreyas Gopal dismissed Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis off successive deliveries to pick up his maiden hat-trick in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as Rajasthan Royals (RR) rocked Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a rain-hit 5 over contest at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

This is the 2nd hat-trick in IPL 2019 after Sam Curran of Kings XI Punjab had taken one against Delhi Capitals earlier in the season.

In the second over of the RCB vs RR match, Kohli mishit an attempted lofted shot to the fielder at long-on, with Liam Livingstone taking a comfortable catch. De Villiers sliced the next delivery to Riyan Parag at cover and Stoinis hit a ball that was in the slot straight to the fielder at mid-off.

Here’s the video:

Batting first, RCB openers Kohli and de Villiers raced to 35 from just 1.3 overs as the home side racked up 62/7 from five overs.

Sanju Samson (28 off 13) and Livingstone (11no off 7) had RR flying to 41/1 from 3.2 overs in reply but when the rain returned, there was no further play as the match ended without a result.
