In the last league game of the season, Mumbai Indians thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders by 9 wickets at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It also marked the end of KKR’s campaign as Sunrisers Hyderabad qualified for the Playoffs.
Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. Opener Chris Lynn (41 runs off 29 balls) provided KKR a decent start, but the middle order failed to score. In the end, it was Nitish Rana’s quick knock of 26 runs off 13 balls that took the team to a score of 133 runs in 20 overs.
It was an easy chase for Mumbai Indians who reached the target in 16.1 overs with 9 wickets in hand. With this victory, Mumbai Indians also jumped to the top of the IPL Points Table.

“My daughter has been coming here every day to watch me play, but I didn’t get a lot of runs earlier. It was nice to get some runs today, but she was sleeping!“, said Rohit during the post-match ceremony.
