Rohit Sharma’s 109-ball 102, his third century in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, went in vain as England defeated India by 31 runs at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Sunday.
With the victory, England kept their hopes of sealing a spot in the semifinals alive.
Brief scores: England 337/7 in 50 overs (Jonny Bairstow 111, Stokes 79, Mohammed Shami 5-69, Jasprit Bumrah 1-44) beat India 306/5 in 50 overs (Rohit Sharma 102, Virat Kohli 66, Liam Plunkett 3-55, Chris Woakes 2-58) by 31 runs.

England back on track. Too good a team to miss out. I don't see them losing to New Zealand now.

What a knock @ImRo45 👊! Pure maturity / class in difficult circumstances. Was privileged to chat with him the other day where I learnt about his deep thinking abilities. As a leader he said relies on hard data for decision making. #ThinkingHitman pic.twitter.com/VL8rKcv0iI
