Shakib Al Hasan’s ninth ODI ton helped Bangladesh complete the second highest successful run chase in World Cup history against the West Indies in Taunton on Monday.
Needing 322 to claim their second win of the tournament, Bangladesh finished the chase in 41.3 overs with seven wickets in hand. Hasan, unbeaten 124 off 99 balls, scored a second successive ton and was matched almost shot-for-shot by Liton Das, who remained not-out at the other end on 94 off 69 deliveries.
The duo added an unbeaten 189 run-stand for the fourth wicket.
Earlier, after put in bat, Windies inform batsman Shai Hope hit 96 off 121 balls and the joint-fastest fifty of the tournament from Shimron Hetmyer inspired the Men in Maroon to post a total of 321-8.
