ICC World Cup 2019: Rohit Sharma hails MS Dhoni’s safe hands after his stunning catch to dismiss Carlos Brathwaite

Indian wicket-keeper MS Dhoni took a stunning one-handed flying catch in the World Cup 2019 league match against West Indies on Thursday.

In the 27th over of the Windies chase, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a back of a length delivery coming into the all-rounder Carlos Braithwaite before straightening. The batsman closed the face of his willow into the leg-side and therefore the outside edge flew to the right of Dhoni, who like Brathwaite was going with the angle and was left wrong-footed. But MSD adjusted quickly to dive to his right and grabbed the ball with one-hand.

India vice-captain Rohit Sharma was awestruck by Dhoni’s amazing dive as his reaction after the catch said it all.

He also took to Twitter to hail Dhoni’s safe pair of hands. “👐 safe hands 👐 ek nahi do do 😀 @msdhoni,” Rohit wrote in his post.

Meanwhile, India defeated West Indies by 125 runs in Manchester and climbed on the second spot on the points table. Virat Kohli’s side is now just a win away from reaching the semi-finals.
