MS Dhoni produced an all-round display to help India beat West Indies by 125 runs in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 league fixture at Old Trafford in Manchester on Thursday.
The 37-year-old Dhoni first scored his 72nd ODI half-century to guide India to a competitive total of 268/7 on a slow Old Trafford pitch. He followed it up with a one-handed flying catch to dismiss dangerous Carlos Brathwaite – the man who destroyed Ben Stokes in the final of T20 World Cup 2019 and almost single-handedly beat New Zealand in their recent World Cup clash.
In the 27th over of the Windies chase, Brathwaite got a thick edge off the first delivery bowled by Indian seamer Jasprit Bumrah. The ball flew between the wicket-keeper Dhoni and first slip, Rohit Sharma. But MSD lept to his right side and took a stunning catch.
