Cricketing fraternity pays tribute to the flood victims in Assam and other states

Indian cricket fraternity has been left heartbroken by the devastation caused in the flood-stricken Assam and other North-East states. The flood situation in Assam has turned critical with all 33 districts in the state being affected by the deluge. So far, at least 30 people have died and over 45 lakh people have been affected by the deadly flood.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and others took to the micro-blogging website Twitter to urge people to support the affected regions.

Rohit Sharma took to his official Twitter handle to share his concern and he wrote: “Devasted to see this. People of Assam near Kaziranga please drive safely and slowly as these beautiful animals have nowhere to go but on the roads praying hard for the rain to let up for them.”

While Virat Kohli wrote, “Heartbroken to hear the devastation caused by the floods in Assam. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected out there. #PrayForAssam.”

KL Rahul in his tweet wrote: “Heartbreaking to see the situation in Assam. Thoughts and prayers #StayStrongAssam.”
