CWC 2019: Cricketing world lauds Rohit Sharma as he becomes the first ever player to hit five centuries in a single World Cup

There is no stopping Rohit Sharma as he has become the first player to smash five centuries in a single edition of a World Cup.

In India’s last match against Bangladesh, Rohit had equalled Kumar Sangakkara’s tally of four hundreds in a single World Cup.


Rohit relishes scoring against Sri Lanka – against whom he has scored two ODI double hundreds. Now, the century at Headingley has put ‘Hitman’ par with Sachin Tendulkar, for having scored six centuries in World Cup history.

Tendulkar scored his six tons across six World Cup editions while Rohit took only two to reach the milestone.
