Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, was present in the stands at the Headingley cricket ground in Leeds on Saturday with their little princess Samaira.
Rohit’s records kept tumbling down as he smashed his 27th ODI century and a fifth hundred in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup during India’s last league match against Sri Lanka.
His fine form helped India ace what many thought could be a tricky chase against the Sri Lankan bowling line-up which stunned England last month. Chasing 265, Rohit and KL Rahul dominated Sri Lanka’s bowling attack to add 189 for the first wicket in 30.1 overs. India beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets with more than 6 overs to spare.
On Sunday, the Indian opener posted a heartfelt message from his official Twitter handle for his wife and daughter. Thanking them for their utmost and sincere support from the stands in every India match of the ongoing 10-nation tournament, Rohit claimed that everything can be achieved if their loved ones are rooting for them with fingers crossed.
“Nothing can beat this, when your loved ones are up there in the stands rooting for you with fingers crossed.”

Rohit’s wife has been a constant presence in the stands and witnessed some of his great knocks; including the Indian opener’s third ODI double-century back in December 2017. On the other hand, ever since Rohit became a father, his daughter has also been among the crowd be it in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 and the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales.
