GT20 Canada 2019: ‘Pagal hai, bowling kaun karega’ replies Shahid Afridi when Wahab Riaz asked him for a second run

Shahid Afridi rolled back the time on Sunday as he smashed an unbeaten 81 off just 40 deliveries, leading Brampton Wolves to a 27-run win over Edmonton Royals in GT20 Canada League match on Sunday.

The 39-year-old defied age as he slammed 10 fours and five sixes in his sensational innings. Thus, he scored 86.41 percent of his total runs in boundaries.

While the crowds were entertained thoroughly during the course of the former Pakistani skipper’s stay at the crease, he summed up Wolves’ innings with a hilarious reply to his teammate Wahab Riaz.

Afridi managed a single in the last ball of Wolves’ innings. However, Riaz asked him for a second run, to which Afridi replied saying, “Pagal hai…bowling kaun karega? (Are you mad? Who will bowl then?).”

Afridi was in no mood to take the extra effort of stealing another run in the last ball of the innings and went back to the pavilion with his side managing 207 for 5.

Wolves’ innings was nicely set up by Lendl Simmons’ quickfire half-century (off 34 balls). However, it was Afridi’s fireworks with the bat that led his side beyond 200.

Despite having Faf du Plessis, Jimmy Neesham, Mohammad Hafeez and few other reliable hitters in the side, Royals managed to put only 180-9 on the board.
