ICC World Cup 2019 – WATCH: Virat Kohli fumes at Mohammed Shami’s fielding effort; uses cuss words

In the 40th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between India and Bangladesh at Edgbaston, India beat Bangladesh by 28 runs. With this win, India has booked their semi-final spot, whereas Bangladesh has now been knocked out of the quadrennial tournament.

The Men in Blue had a decent outing on the field at Edgbaston, but a poor fielding effort by one of their premier fast bowlers in the tournament so far left captain Virat Kohli fuming like anything.

Kohli uses cuss words for Mohammad Shami

It all happened during the 27th over of Bangladesh’ chase. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a length delivery outside off to Liton Das, who played it comfortably towards the mid-off region.

Das judged the run to perfection, and scampered through for a quick single. Jasprit Bumrah, who was stationed at mid-off sensed a run-out opportunity and had a shy at the stumps only to miss them altogether.

Since there was no fielder backing-up, Das went in for the second run on the overthrow towards the Third Man region. Mohammad Shami perhaps was not quite vigilant and in an attempt to quickly return the ball back to the wicket-keeper, missed the ball altogether to make a mess of it.

Skipper Kohli, on witnessing the entire incident did what comes naturally to him in such cases. He absolutely vented his anger at Shami and even asked him to wake up after the impulsive abuse hurled at him.
