New Zealand rugby team takes a sarcastic dig at ICC after their game against South Africa ends in a draw

Two weeks have passed since the thrilling World Cup 2019 Final between England and New Zealand at Lord’s. But the people of New Zealand are yet to get over the defeat against England. They kept trolling the ICC on and off for one of their weirdest rules that led to their country’s loss.

This time, the New Zealand Rugby Team – ‘All Blacks’ joined the party. They took a cheeky jibe at the International Cricket Council.

In ‘The Rugby Championship’, the game ended in a draw in the New Zealand v/s South Africa encounter. Both All Blacks and Springboks ended up with 16 points each to their tally.

All Blacks took to Twitter to post the result of the game. In their tweet, they poked the ICC by subtly hinting at the ‘boundary count’ rule that went in favor of England. They also revealed that the game was a draw and thanked their opponents for an epic final.

New Zealand belted out a phenomenal performance in the World Cup 2019. They defeated a strong Indian side in the semis to reach the final. Both the teams playing in the final were looking to win their first World Cup. But luck did not favor them as Ben Stokes’ brilliant knock led to England and New Zealand’s match ending in a tie.

The tournament witnessed its first-ever Super Over and that too, in a final. That ended in a draw as well with England declared as the winner for hitting more boundaries.

The World Cup result was termed ‘unfair’ by England skipper Eoin Morgan.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson felt that ‘an idea’ had decided the final result.
