Post India’s World Cup exit, there were reports about a rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. And since then, the cold war is becoming more intense day by day.
Rohit’s recent action of unfollowing Anushka Sharma on Instagram has got both people and the media talking.
The actress too didn’t hold herself back from coming up with a cryptic message –
“A wise man once said nothing. Only truth can shake hands with silence in a mess of false appearances.”
Now, KL Rahul and Yuzvendra Chahal have begun following the Indian skipper’s wife on Twitter.
Here’s the screenshot:
KL Rahul, despite his ordinary form and inconsistent performance, continues to play in all three formats. News is that he has the captain’s backing. Chahal plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, a side led by Kohli in the IPL.
Both Rahul and Chahal are known to be close to Kohli. Besides, they have been heard calling Anushka “bhabhi.” However, it was discovered before that Chahal respects and shares a great rapport with Rohit as well.
Reports suggested that many players of the team are not satisfied with the coach & captain’s decisions. And thus, this has resulted in a divided dressing room.
COA Chief Vinod Rai has denied the rumours and blamed the media for cooking up stories–
“These are all stories created by you guys.”
The two best batsmen of India were once believed to be good friends. Both have always contributed to the team’s cause. But rumours had it that Anushka and Rohit’s wife, Ritika had kept a distance from one another during the World Cup.
Earlier, there were talks that Rohit would lead the team in all three formats against West Indies. But later, Kohli refused to take rest and was finally picked as the captain for the Windies tour.
It was also being said that Kohli would lead in Test Matches while Rohit would take over as captain in ODIs and T20s.
But it seems like the selectors have taken their decision. They have sent out a clear message by appointing Virat Kohli as the skipper for the entire Windies tour.
