Hampshire wicketkeeper Lewis McManus fooled Sussex batsman Laurie Evans with his skills to pull off an MS Dhoni-like stumping on Wednesday in the ongoing Vitality T20 Blast.
In the 10th over of the Sussex innings, leg spinner Mason Crane extracted extra bounce from the pitch and it was so pronounced that Evans was completely taken aback by it. After being beaten, the ball went to the gloves of McManus, who was keeping upfront, after bouncing off his gloves for a couple of times.
However, the batsman had no idea where the ball was and least he expected it to be in McManus’ hands. The wicket-keeper, on the other hand, waited with the ball in his right glove and as soon as the batsman stepped out of his crease, he knocked off the bails.
Evans was completely baffled by the stunt and extended his hands in confusion. He scored 15 runs from 12 deliveries before getting out.
