Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a beauty to knock down the middle-stump of Dinesh Karthik during a Tamil Nadu Premier (TNPL) 2019 fixture at Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli on Monday. Ashwin’s side Dindigul Dragons was too hot to handle for Karaikudi Kaalai as the former registered the victory by 10 wickets.
The stump-to-stump line played the magic for Ashwin as he dismissed Karthik for just 17. The 32-year-old off-spinner himself shared the video of dismissal on his Instagram terming Karthik as ‘one of his most admired batsmen’.
Ashwin also mentioned that the commentary by Subramaniam Badrinath and Hemang Badani made the occasion more special. It is to be noted that all of them have represented the Tamil Nadu side in Ranji cricket over the years.
After being put into bowl, Dragons restricted Kaalai to 158/7 in 20 overs and chased the down the target in 17 overs with openers Hari Nishanth and N Jagadeesan scoring unbeaten 81 off 56 balls and 78 not out off 47 balls respectively.
