Ishan Kishan’s fiery 24 balls 55 help India A beat South Africa A in a thrilling counter

On Saturday, India A defeated South Africa A by two wickets in the second one-dayer at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. With two consecutive wins, India A goes up 2-0 in the five-match series.

India A skipper Manish Pandey won the toss and elected to field first. In the 21-over game, South Africa A scored 162/5. South African middle-order batsman George Linde played a brilliant knock of 52 off 25 balls. For India, Deepak Chahar, Khaleel Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Axar Patel picked up one wicket each.

Chasing a score of 163 runs, India lost the early wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad (1 run). Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan played a match-winning knock of 55 runs in 24 balls including five fours and four sixes. India A reached the target with eight wickets down and six balls remaining.

In the post-match interview, ‘Player of the Match’ Ishan Kishan told Star Sports, They were also under pressure, I wanted to watch the ball and back my strengths.”

“The wicket was too good to bat on, and they kept bowling loose balls which I kept putting away. I didn’t want to play any defensive strokes,” Kishan added.
