KL Rahul responds to the reports of him dating Alia Bhatt’s bestie Akansha Ranjan Kapoor

The connection between Cricket and Bollywood dates a long way back. The cricketers are treated like demigods in India and the Bollywood divas also get blown away by the players.

Right from the time of Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi to current Indian skipper Virat Kohli, one has seen a number of cricketers getting married to Bollywood actresses.

Well, Team India star batsman KL Rahul also has been linked to various Indian actresses.

From Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa to Bollywood actress Sonal Chauhan, Rahul has been linked with quite a handful of actresses. But no rumour has hogged the limelight like his alleged relationship with Akansha Ranjan Kapoor. For quite some time now, there are speculations that Rahul is dating secretly Akansha.

Recent reports claim that Akansha also introduced KL to her best friend Alia Bhatt and her beau Ranbir Kapoor. However, during an interview with Bombay Times, the top-order batsman outright denied sharing details about his personal life. He said, “Oh, all these things have been written about? I don’t really read the papers, so I don’t know what has been written about me. I have learnt to keep my personal life personal and not make it a thing to talk about. I am committed to cricket right now.”

When asked if he is single or not, he broke a lot of hearts by saying, “I don’t really know. When I figure that out, I will give you a call and tell you.”

Rahul’s cricketing career

KL Rahul, nonetheless, has been doing well on the field since making a comeback after the ‘Koffee with Karan’ controversy. He had a sensational outing with Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL) before he impressed in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. After replacing injured Shikhar Dhawan as the opener, he scored two fifties and a century in the tournament.

Rahul is currently in West Indies for the ongoing series. India have already won the ODI and the T20I series and are now preparing for the two-match Test series.
