On the eve of Friendship Day, Sachin Tendulkar shares a nostalgic picture of him and Vinod Kambli

On the eve of Friendship Day, legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar shared a throwback picture of him with his school friend and ex-teammate, Vinod Kambli.

The Master Blaster uploaded the picture on his Twitter handle and expressed his feelings with the caption:

“Kamblya, found this photo of ours from our school days.
Memories came rushing back and thought of sharing this.”

Both Tendulkar and Kambli studied in the same school and were trained under the same coach, Ramakant Achrekar.

Kambli replied to Tendulkar’s tweet and said that the photo took him down the memory lane. He also tweeted about a past incident involving him, Sachin and their coach.

In the following tweet, Tendulkar asked Twitterati as to what kind of fun things he and his childhood buddy Kambli could do when they meet.

Sachin made his debut at the age of 16, and since then, there was no looking back. He went from strength to strength and became the world’s best batsman.

Known as the ‘God of Cricket,’ Sachin Tendulkar amassed more than 30,000 runs in international cricket. He is also the leading run-scorer in both Test and ODI cricket, as well as the only batsman to score 100 international centuries. Besides, he was the first batsman to score a double century in an ODI match.

At the age of 37, he became a part of the World Cup-winning team in 2011. It was his last World Cup tournament back then.

He retired from ODIs in 2012 and played his last Test Match against West Indies in 2013.

Sachin’s message to his fans worldwide has always been โ€“ “Chase your dreams because dreams do come true.” He strongly believes that ‘records are meant to be broken.’

On the other hand, Vinod Kambli was an explosive left-handed batsman. But unfortunately, his career was pretty short-lived, and he didn’t get to play much for India.

Kambli was a part of 104 ODIs and scored 2477 runs. In 17 Tests, he amassed 1084 runs.
