Sourav Ganguly names Indian players with X-Factor for the T20 World Cup 2020

The 2020 ICC T20 World Cup is the seventh edition of the ICC T20 World Cup tournament that promises to be a grand affair.

In an exclusive interview with Cricbuzz, ex-India captain and My11Circle Brand Ambassador Sourav Ganguly picked Indian players with the X-Factor for the mega event next year.

He said he did not want to mention Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as they were already players having the X-Factor by default. Rohit Sharma, who had scored five centuries in the 2019 World Cup and Virat Kohli, who is the No. 1 Test and ODI batsman, have proved their mettle.

Talking about the future of Indian cricket, Ganguly felt that Rishabh Pant would be “the player to watch out for.”

“You just have to be patient with Pant. Whenever he gets out, I see the country going up and down, Twitter going berserk. But to make him a match-winner, you’ve got to set him free,” said the former left-hander.

The 47-year-old also backed Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah to be the explosive game-changers.

“Hardik Pandya has got better and better with both bat and ball, which happens when you play consistently at this level. He’s an improved player.”

“Also, Jasprit Bumrah is another X-Factor for Indian cricket,” the former cricketer added.

India will hope that the three players named by Ganguly will come good for the team in the 2020 T20 World Cup.

The large-scale event is slated to be held in Australia from October 18 to November 15 next year. The final will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
